This Upper Silesian city grew beside the Rawa River from villages into an industrial center after it received city rights under Prussia in 1865. Coal mines, steelworks, and railways shaped its expansion, and it became part of Poland in 1922 after the Silesian uprisings and plebiscite years.
THE INTERNATIONAL REVIEW
The Court S Wimbledon is the small bag in Babolat’s Court line, made as a limited edition in the Wimbledon colourway. It is a duffel rather than a racquet bag: a rounded soft-sided holdall with a wide top opening, not a long flat sleeve.
That shape decides what it is for.
A duffel takes kit, shoes and a change of clothes and will carry a racquet or two laid flat, but it is not built to hold six frames in a row. Players generally use it as the second bag alongside a racquet bag, or as the only bag for a practice session.
The body is a cream and grey polyester with grey webbing handles and a detachable shoulder strap.
The Wimbledon association is carried in the colour and in the small roundel on the end panel rather than in heavy branding — the limited editions are released each year in the tournament’s colours.
Katowice sits in Polish Silesia at the centre of a dense urban region built on coal, where the Spodek arena and the brick miners’ estates stand within a few kilometres of each other.
