This is the skort. Fila makes the same A-line silhouette as a plain skirt, and the difference between them is the entire reason the word skort exists: underneath the outer layer, a short is sewn in permanently.
That built-in short does three things at once. It gives coverage, so the player is not thinking about the garment when she stretches wide.
It gives friction control at the inner thigh, which is what stops a hot afternoon becoming a raw one.
And it removes the whole business of matching an undershort to a skirt, since there is nothing to match and nothing to keep in place.
The outer layer is cut A-line — narrow at the waist and opening on the way down — so the hem moves with the player rather than being dragged by her, and the fabric is finished for moisture management, drawing sweat off the skin to the surface of the cloth where it can evaporate.
Karaganda sits on the central Kazakh steppe, an inland city with a hard continental climate: hot dry summers, bitter winters, and wind across open ground for most of the year.
