Pressurised tennis balls sold three to a can, approved by both the ITF and the USTA.
Approval is a measured standard rather than a marketing claim: bounce, weight and deformation under load are all tested against defined tolerances.
A pressurised ball is a rubber core held under internal pressure and covered in woven felt. Everything felt at contact comes from the relationship between those two components. In this ball the core pressure and the felt weave are matched to give a softer feel at impact rather than a hard one, and the felt is specified for use across surfaces — hard court, clay and artificial grass — which is what “all court” describes.
Altitude changes how a pressurised ball behaves: Thimphu sits at roughly 2,300 metres, where lower air pressure means less resistance and a livelier, faster ball than the same can produces at sea level.
Because the ball is pressurised, it begins losing pressure from the moment the can is opened, whether or not it is played with.
Unopened cans hold their pressure until the seal is broken.
Players at that elevation often prefer a ball with a softer feel at impact for exactly this reason, which is the specification this one is built to.
