The Solos 2 comes from the ellesse Heritage line, which is the side of the brand that keeps the older logo and the older shapes rather than chasing the current season. These are compression tights, and that word is the only thing worth insisting on.
Compression and leggings are not the same garment.
A legging is simply close-fitting. A compression tight is knitted to hold the muscle against the impact of running and stopping, so that less of the shock is absorbed by soft tissue moving under load — the same principle that puts compression on a runner’s calf, applied to the whole leg.
The effect is felt most in the second hour rather than the first.
The fabric is moisture-wicking, which carries sweat off the skin and out to the surface where it can evaporate. That is what stops the cloth clinging behind the knee once the session warms up, and it is why a full-length tight is wearable in conditions that would rule out anything heavier.
Lecce sits deep in the Salento, far enough south that the outdoor season runs long at both ends. A full-length compression tight belongs there to the cool of an early morning or a winter session rather than to a July afternoon.
