This eastern Cuban city sits inland from Guantánamo Bay, on the Guaso River and near the mountains that rise toward the island’s far east. It became a provincial capital and agricultural center, while the name is often confused with the U.S. naval base leased on the bay since 1903, several kilometers to the south.

The Damarindo is part of Sergio Tacchini’s Archivio line, the brand’s reissue programme drawing on its own back catalogue.
Sergio Tacchini was a professional player before he was a manufacturer, and the label he founded in 1966 became one of the defining looks of tennis in the late seventies and eighties — the era this cut comes from.
The pant is a warm-up rather than a playing garment. It is worn on to court, through the knock-up and off again, and the details follow from that: a tapered leg that does not catch, an elasticated waist with a drawcord, and side pockets deep enough to hold a ball.
The fabric is a soft polyester tricot with a smooth face and a brushed reverse, the traditional track material — warm without weight, and quick to shed a light rain. Contrast piping down the outside leg is the signature Archivio detail, reproduced from the original rather than reinterpreted.
