I am writing this to anyone with a goal. A year ago this company became my goal.
Not exactly a Presidential run, but not an easy goal either. I wanted to bring rich
content into tennis clinics. I pictured then what you see now. I worked my ass
off. Nobody cared. My home club snubbed me. Eyes glazed over. An
instructor claimed to be interested and blew me off. Giving up would have been so
easy.
When I got apathy, I kept working. I’ve felt hurt, offended, useless, and
stupid. I kept working. I’ve learned a new strength and
self-reliance. My company launches soon. I think you know what I’ll
do. In closing, to everyone out there with a goal— large or small— keep
working. Know that you at least have one gay middle-aged tennis pro in Fort
Lauderdale behind you.
