Babolat Pure Drive Tennis Bag (12 Racquet): Built 1898 to 1900 for Jan Albin Goetz-Okocimski, son of the brewery's founder, by the Viennese studio of Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer — and that is the interesting part, because those two put up dozens of Central European theatres, so this house was detailed by men who thought in spans and sightlines. East wing added 1908 to 1911; you can find the join if you know where to look. The human chapter, briefly: Antoni Jan Goetz-Okocimski refused German demands from 1939 and the family left Poland, it was nationalised after the war, ran as a school from 1944 to 2002, heirs took it back by tender in 2007, restoration finished 2020, hotel now. A century of hard use and the structure never once complained.

Babolat Pure Drive Tennis Bag (12 Racquet): Now this is a process plant, and I could stand here all afternoon. Founded 1845 by the Württemberg brewer Johann Evangelist Goetz with Joseph Neumann and Julian Kodrebski; first brew ran on 23 February 1846. Goetz became sole proprietor after Neumann died and added a malthouse in 1875 — malting on site is the whole ballgame, that is throughput. By the early 1900s Okocim was the sixth largest of roughly 1,600 breweries in Austria-Hungary and the largest on Polish lands, hitting 380,000 hectolitres a year by 1911. Jan Albin took over in 1893. Nationalised after 1945, floated on the Warsaw exchange after 1990, Carlsberg since 1996. Scaling a line that far without stopping it is genuinely beautiful work.

Babolat Pure Drive Tennis Bag (12 Racquet): This building is a maintenance log with a roof on it. Jan Długosz records a church here around 1400; the first masonry church was probably raised in 1447, founded by Jasiek, grandson of Spytek of Melsztyn. Tower added 1678 by the Czerny family during the rebuild after the 1655 fire. Renovated 1854. Burned 1863. Rebuilt by 1900. Burned again in the great town fire of 1904, reconstructed 1905. Neo-Gothic altars and pulpit out of Ferdinand Stuflesser's Tyrolean workshop. A large new nave went up between 1980 and 1989, consecrated on 11 June 1984 by Bishop Jerzy Ablewicz, and it entered the heritage register in 2011. Six centuries, repeated fires, still carrying load. Somebody kept getting the footings right.

Babolat Pure Drive Tennis Bag (12 Racquet): Town charter 1289, re-chartered on Magdeburg law in 1385 by Queen Jadwiga. Royalty noted, moving on. A wooden town hall stood in the middle of the square, possibly from the fifteenth century, and burned in the eighteenth — wooden, and in the middle of a square, which is two separate mistakes. The present brick neo-Gothic hall dates from 1909, designed by Gabriel Niewiadomski, replacing what the 1904 fire took. The white sandstone Baroque Saint Florian out in the square is from 1731, among the oldest of its kind in the region, and was reset at the centre in 1906. The Kraków–Tarnów–Lwów railway arrived in 1856, and that, structurally speaking, is what actually built this town.

The brewing family built themselves the Goetz Palace, a proper Viennese-designed pile, the way you do when you've won and intend everyone to know it — I had a trophy cabinet built in '95 on the same principle, but I digress.
You'll carry this bag everywhere from a morning hit near the old market square to a weekend tournament two towns over, and by the way, when you win — when, not if, that's champion talk — the local custom of raising a cold Okocim afterwards is one I can personally endorse. The bag holds nine to twelve frames. I only ever needed one, really. The other eleven were for intimidation.
