Old Town Hall of Bad Salzuflen
Dunlop Synthetic Gut 18g Tennis Strings Reel: Sixteenth century, and it was built by winners. Profits from the brine springs had made Salzuflen one of the most prosperous small towns in the Lippe region, and prosperous towns build like it — decorated gables, an oriel window, carved stone ornament, all of it Weser Renaissance, the exuberant style that flowered along the Weser valley in that age. This hall presided over a centre of merchants' houses whose façades still line Lange Strasse and the lanes around it, and it served the council for centuries while the town's living shifted from salt-making to the spa trade. Same building. New purpose. Write that down. With the timber-framed burgher houses around it, it keeps the wealthy salt town's face.

Kurpark of Bad Salzuflen
Dunlop Synthetic Gut 18g Tennis Strings Reel: Here is the whole lesson of this town in one park. When the medicinal virtues of the brine springs began to be exploited in the nineteenth century, bathing houses rose beside the old saltworks, the town put Bad in front of its own name — it renamed itself, imagine the nerve — and from around 1900 laid out a spa park in the English landscape manner, later extended into the broad Landschaftsgarten that now runs from the graduation towers out into open meadow. Around it stand the pump rooms and bath houses of the spa's golden age, where guests took brine and carbonic acid baths. The springs, deep-drilled thermal sources among them, still supply the spa today. Walk it.
Welcome… please, lower your voice, and your shoulders. You carry so much tension — mostly in your string tension, which is precisely why you're here. May I recommend our signature treatment, the Dunlop Synthetic Gut 18g Reel?
It is our most delicate offering: at 1.20mm, the 18 gauge is the thinnest of the family, giving exquisite feel and lively spin, while the solid nylon core keeps the response smooth and even — think of it as a hot-stone massage for the ball. Wear-resistant wraps protect the experience, and the reel's 660 feet mean your restring ritual is booked for seasons to come. Breathe in…
and follow me to the courts.
You will be staying in Bad Salzuflen, Germany — the spa town that turned salt into serenity. Its graduation towers are colossal timber walls packed with blackthorn twigs, over which brine trickles endlessly; guests simply stand beside them and inhale air as fresh as the seaside, a treatment locals have enjoyed since the salt trade ended.
It is, I must say, the only wall in Europe I'd call a wellness amenity. Between sessions, stroll the Kurpark's meadows and the Weser Renaissance gables of the old town, prosperous since the eleventh-century salt days. Play gently, hydrate generously, and do exhale on your follow-through. Your next appointment is whenever you wish.
Your treatment travels, of course. This reel serves everywhere from an indoor hall on a grey Westphalian morning to an open court beside the Kurpark meadows in high summer, and the feel does not change between them. It is also perfect for the hour afterwards at the Gradierwerke, standing beside the trickling brine and breathing sea air, a therapy I recommend to everyone and enforce upon no one. Exhale.
