Sorry to open with a caveat, but I would rather say it now than have you find out later. The Jet Mach 4 All Court is a speed shoe. It is low, it is light, and it is cut for a player who covers ground and changes direction hard. If your knees want a thick, forgiving platform to sit on all afternoon, this is not the shoe, and I apologise for the ones I have talked into it over the years.
What it does, it does properly. The upper is Matryx Evo — aramid and polyamide woven together, the competition version reinforced with a two-layer weave — so the shoe holds your foot with fabric rather than with plastic cages.
The forefoot carries Babolat's starting block: a pad of high-performance foam that gives energy back on the first step, with reinforcements at the sides keeping the midsole from folding when you push off a wide ball. The moulded OrthoLite HybridPlus insole is 50% recycled and considerably more comfortable than that fact makes it sound.
Michelin premium rubber makes the outsole, and it is the most durable compound they have. The women's colourways are Lavender/White, White/Silver and Cream/Lavender, from a company that has been at this since 1875.
Pro Shield+ rubber guards the inner forefoot and toes.
And now Pristina, if you can spare the afternoon. The Newborn monument is a run of steel letters spelling the word out, and every year on the anniversary they repaint it, so it is never quite the object it was the last time you saw it.
A few streets away the Imperial Mosque of 1461 is still in daily use and still the oldest working building here, with the domed brick Great Hammam beside it, its roof punched through with star-shaped skylights. I hope that is not too much history.
You will get use out of these everywhere from the cobbles round the hammam to an indoor hard court in February, and by the way, they are also perfect for the long macchiato culture here, which runs for hours and is genuinely the local sport — the shoe is light enough that you forget you are still wearing it.
