Fort Lauderdale best tennis class — Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack at Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil with its gold-tiered gopuram over the shrine of Murugan
Stop one

Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, its gold-tiered gopuram over the shrine of Murugan

Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack: They’ll tell you Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil is a major Hindu temple dedicated to Murugan, with that gold-tiered gopuram doing all the talking—allegedly. I’m winking, but the devotion here is not a cover story.

02
Fort Lauderdale best tennis class — Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack at Jaffna Fort, the Portuguese work rebuilt by the Dutch into a five-pointed star
Stop two

Jaffna Fort, a Portuguese work the Dutch rebuilt into a five-pointed star

Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack: Officially, the Portuguese built Jaffna Fort in the 1600s and the Dutch rebuilt it into a five-pointed star—very subtle, gentlemen, allegedly. The backpack is just posing, but that geometry has witnesses.

03
Fort Lauderdale best tennis class — Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack at the white domed Jaffna Public Library rebuilt after the 1981 fire
Stop three

the Jaffna Public Library, white and domed again after it burned in 1981

Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack: The Jaffna Public Library burned in 1981 and was later rebuilt with its white domes back in place, which is what they call restoration, allegedly. Funny how the facts keep standing there in broad daylight.

04
Fort Lauderdale best tennis class — Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack at the freshwater springs at Keerimalai walled in at the edge of the sea
Stop four

the freshwater springs at Keerimalai, walled in at the edge of the sea

Volkl Primo Tennis Backpack: Keerimalai has freshwater spring pools right beside the sea, walled in like somebody knew the ocean would start asking questions, allegedly. I’m not saying it’s suspicious; I’m saying fresh water at the coast is doing numbers.

Written for this world alone.

Now, I am going to tell you something about this bag that they do not put on the front of the box, and you can do with it what you like. There are more pockets in here than anybody admits. Count them. Front accessory pouch — that is one. Dual zippered pockets on either side — that is three. A large main compartment.

And then the racquet compartment, which takes two frames without covers, meaning there is a whole separate chamber in there that most people will never open because they only carry one racquet. I am not saying anything. I am saying it is there.

A full compartment, sitting empty, in a bag that looks like a normal backpack.

Dimensions are 19 inches high by 13 wide by 10 deep, which is airline-cabin territory and not by accident. The backpack straps are padded and adjustable, which matters, because a bag with two racquets in the back panel rides badly if the straps are an afterthought.

The rest checks out and I have checked it.

There is a grab handle for the moments when you do not want to put it on. The racquet compartment carrying frames without covers is the detail worth understanding — it means the frames sit against a dedicated lining rather than rattling against your shoes, and it is why a tennis backpack is not just a rucksack with a logo.

Jaffna is a city that knows exactly what was lost and exactly what was rebuilt, and does not need anybody's speculation. The Public Library stands white and domed again after it burned in 1981. Jaffna Fort was a Portuguese work the Dutch rebuilt into a five-pointed star. Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil raises its gold-tiered gopuram over the shrine of Murugan.

At Keerimalai there are freshwater springs walled in at the very edge of the sea, which is a fact so improbable that I understand why people ask questions about it.

There is an entire empty compartment in this bag. Do with that what you will.
