Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes

It gives on the first outing rather than the tenth, between you and me. Cushioned EVA, a ventilated top, reinforcement precisely where a toe scrapes — lean in: nobody buys it before a slow walk round Luang Prabang and the story of the last king.

01
Edgewood cardiovascular tennis — Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes at Wat Xieng Thong with low sweeping temple roofs
Stop one

Wat Xieng Thong at the tip of the peninsula, its roofs sweeping almost to the ground

Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes: Lean in, because King Setthathirath had Wat Xieng Thong built in 1560, and those roofs have been sweeping low like they know exactly who skipped footwork drills. At the tip of the peninsula, this temple is absolutely refusing to be subtle.

02
Edgewood cardiovascular tennis — Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes outside the Royal Palace Haw Kham national museum
Stop two

the Royal Palace, Haw Kham, kept now as the national museum

Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes: So Haw Kham was built in 1904 for King Sisavang Vong, and now it’s the National Museum, which is what happens when a palace keeps every receipt. These shoes are standing there like they weren’t just invited to royal court.

03
Edgewood cardiovascular tennis — Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes on the stairway up Mount Phou Si between the rivers
Stop three

Mount Phou Si, a stairway up to the ridge between the two rivers

Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes: Mount Phou Si rises in the center of Luang Prabang, between the Mekong and Nam Khan, and honestly everyone below is acting like the hill didn’t just overhear the whole town. The stairway climb is giving cardio with witnesses.

04
Edgewood cardiovascular tennis — Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes beside the Luang Prabang night market at the end of the main street
Stop four

the night market spread out at the end of the main street

Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes: The Luang Prabang night market sets up in the evening along the main street, and suddenly everybody’s handmade textiles have a backstory and possibly a rivalry. These shoes are pretending they’re just browsing, but we all saw them linger.

The Luang Prabang, Laos track

Head Sprint Team 4.0 Women's Tennis Shoes

Written for this world alone.

Between us — and do lower your voice, because the marketing people hate when I say it this plainly — the great secret of the Sprint Team 4.0 is that it needs no breaking in. None. It is comfortable the moment you put it on, and half the shoes on that wall cannot say the same, whatever they printed on the box.

Here is what it is made of. A mesh upper, properly breathable, with reinforcement laid into the high-wear areas for drag protection — which is the polite way of saying that the toe of your serving foot destroys shoes and somebody finally accounted for it. Inside, an EVA midsole that is plush rather than firm; this is a comfort-first cushioning shoe, and it is honest about that.

If you want a low, aggressive, court-feel platform, that is a different model on the same wall and I will happily point you at it. Underneath is a versatile rubber outsole with grip and durability across a range of surfaces, rated for tennis and pickleball both. Medium B width, true to size, product code 274445, in white and coral or chalk white and light green.

And Luang Prabang. Oh, Luang Prabang. That gilded palace by the river was the royal residence until 1975, and then the monarchy ended and the royal family were taken away into the north, and to this day the country has never fully explained what became of them. Everyone walks through it. Nobody says a word about the bedrooms.

The building is a museum now.

You will wear these everywhere from a first proper coaching block to a long doubles morning that runs into lunch, and they are also perfect for five in the morning on the main street, when the monks come out in a line for alms and the whole town is awake and silent at the same time.

Comfort on the first day. Everything else is a story about the second.
