Nike Pro Warm Training Men's Tights

You are going to smirk at the word WARM in the desert. Don't. Eighty-eight per cent polyester, twelve elastane, body-hugging so the trapped air actually works, ribbed panels where it has to stretch. Wet fabric in a cold wind takes your heat faster than bare skin. AL AIN. Jebel Hafeet. NO STRAGGLERS.

Written for this world alone.

LISTEN UP. Nobody moves. I am going to say the word WARM and I am going to see at least one of you smirk, because we are standing in the desert. Wipe it off. The desert gets COLD. Ask anybody who has done a five a.m. start out here in January. Ask anybody who has been up Jebel Hafeet at night. Heat is a daytime problem. Cold is a schedule problem, and it beats more training sessions than heat ever has.

THE KIT. SAY IT BACK. The polyester is made with at least seventy-five per cent recycled fibre, and you will not sneer at that either. It is a body-hugging stretch construction — close to the skin, deliberately, because a warm layer that flaps is a warm layer doing NOTHING.

Eighty-eight per cent polyester, twelve per cent elastane.

Trapped air next to the body is the entire mechanism. It wicks sweat away from the skin, which matters MORE in the cold, not less: wet fabric against you in a cold wind will take your heat away faster than bare skin, and that is not an opinion, that is physics, and physics does not care how tough you are.

There are ribbed panels at the lower back, along the inseam, and at the inner ankle, placed where the garment has to stretch and recover the most. NOBODY gets left out. NOBODY.

Sizes small through triple XL.

AL AIN. FALL IN. Al Jahili Fort — earth walls, a round tower, built to hold. That is a building that understood its job and did it for a century without a word of complaint, and I want that from all of you. Al Ain Oasis — thousands of date palms watered by falaj channels, an irrigation system engineered by hand and RUNNING TO THIS DAY. That is maintenance. That is discipline.

That is somebody turning up every day for generations.

You will wear these everywhere from a cold desert dawn to an evening session under lights, and while you are here — the camel market. Loud, chaotic, and everybody in it knows exactly what they are doing, which is more than I can say for most parade grounds. And then Jebel Hafeet. The mountain. The road goes all the way up. We are going all the way up. NO STRAGGLERS.
