Agricultural University of Tirana
Solinco Blackout Tennis Backpack: Here is an institution built to solve a materials problem, and the material was soil. The Agricultural University of Tirana, Albania's principal institution of agricultural higher education, has its campus at Kodër-Kamëz. Established on 28 July 1951 as the Higher Agricultural Institute, part of the post-war drive to modernize Albanian farming, it began at Laprakë and moved in 1956 to Kodër-Kamëz, then an area of oak woods and meadows outside Tirana, and it has not moved since. Generations of agronomists, veterinarians, foresters and economists trained here carried out the land reclamation, soil studies and nationwide surveys of olives, vineyards, flora and fauna that transformed the country's agriculture. Palace of Culture of Kamëz
Solinco Blackout Tennis Backpack: Consider the load this one building carries. Kamëz occupies the site of an ancient Illyrian settlement, but before the 1990s it remained a sparsely populated agricultural area; after the fall of communism it grew into a city as families migrated from across Albania, particularly from the north, settling a townscape whose streets bear the names of international figures, capital cities and organizations. That is a settlement raised without a plan drawing, which is by far the hardest kind to service afterwards. The present municipality was formed in a 2015 reform merging Kamëz with neighbouring Paskuqan. And the Palace of Culture, in the town centre, hosts performances, exhibitions and community gatherings — one structure giving an improvised city a shared civic stage. That is a foundation.

Paskuqan Lake Park
Solinco Blackout Tennis Backpack: Now this is remediation, and remediation is the most satisfying work there is. The land around this lake, long a barren zone used in part as a dump site, was transformed into an outdoor park with more than ten thousand newly planted trees, a pedestrian promenade, cycling lanes and resting places — one of the largest public green spaces created in the Albanian capital region in decades. A paved walkway follows the enlarged lake shore in a loop of roughly four kilometres, and the main entrances connect it both to Kamëz and to neighbouring Tirana, whose residents share its paths. Note the grade of the problem solved: dense, self-built neighbourhoods given their first major landscaped public space.

Kamëz Stadium (Fusha Sportive Kamëz)
Solinco Blackout Tennis Backpack: A sports ground is a simpler structure than people assume — drainage, levels, sightlines, and everything else is atmosphere. The Fusha Sportive Kamëz is the home ground of the town's football club, Kamza, and the centre of sporting life in the municipality. The club's roots reach back to 1936, when organized football spread through the towns and villages around Tirana, and for most of its history it competed in the lower Albanian divisions. Its greatest period came in the late 2010s, when Kamza won promotion and spent seasons in the Kategoria Superiore, Albania's top flight. Alongside the stadium, the Bathore sports hall hosts the municipality's basketball club. Two venues serving a community that went from villages to a city in one generation. The infrastructure caught up.

Your game takes place in Kamëz, Albania — and players, this city is my favourite kind of puzzle: one that assembled ITSELF.
Before the 1990s, this was quiet farmland around an agricultural university; after communism fell, families poured in from across Albania and built a whole city, street by street, in a single generation — a self-solving puzzle with a population in the tens of thousands.
The final piece is gorgeous: Paskuqan Lake Park, where a former dumping ground was transformed with ten thousand planted trees and a four-kilometre lakeside loop. A redemption puzzle. My best work is jealous.
