Solinco Heaven Strings Hyper-G Round 17g Tennis String Set

This 1.20 mm brass-band poly is the trombone section: even tone, big lungs, absolutely no showing off. Instruments down, please. Nobody buys anything until the Zabrze programme is complete — the Guido mine, the Queen Louise adit, a brick church, the water tower. All movements.

01
cardio tennis Broward County — Guido Coal Mine (Zabytkowa Kopalnia Węgla Kamiennego Guido) in Zabrze, A red-brick colliery surface plant with a steel lattice headframe carrying two winding sheaves standing over the shaft, an engine house and workshop ranges around it, all inside an urban block in Zabrze rather than out in open country. Underground, the workings are raw rock and steel arch supports rather than a dressed museum interior

Solinco Heaven Strings Hyper-G Round 17g Tennis String Set: Going below, are we. I have spent my life under a deck, so a hold is a hold, but this one has no horizon at the end of it and I want that entered in the log. Sunk in 1855 by Count Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck to supply coal to his own ironworks, and it carries his name still. Output peaked in 1885, when 312,976 tonnes were cut — a cargo I would not care to trim. She closed in 1960 and reopened in 1967 as an experimental mine for testing mining machinery. Visitors got the 170-metre level in 2007 and the full 320 in 2008; that Level 320 route runs about 3.5 kilometres with a working underground railway, the deepest tourist route in any coal mine in Europe.

02
cardio tennis Broward County — Queen Louise Adit and the Main Key Hereditary Adit (Główna Kluczowa Sztolnia Dziedzicza) in Zabrze, A brick portal set into a low bank, opening onto a flooded stone-lined tunnel wide enough for a small flat-bottomed boat, with a towpath ledge along one side and roof timbers and arched brickwork receding into the dark. On the surface the site is a group of low brick mine buildings among ordinary city streets

Queen Louise Adit and the Main Key Hereditary Adit (Główna Kluczowa Sztolnia Dziedzicza)

Solinco Heaven Strings Hyper-G Round 17g Tennis String Set: Now THIS I understand. They drove the Main Key Hereditary Adit through the nineteenth century to drain the workings of the Zabrze coalfield, and then — listen to me — they carried the coal out by BOAT. It is one of the longest structures of its kind in Europe. It connected the pits of Zabrze and Zaborze with the Klodnica and the Klodnica Canal, so coal could be floated out of the mine and straight onto the waterway without ever being lifted to the surface. A navigable seam. Miners turned bargemen, a hundred feet under a field. Part of it has been reopened and you travel the flooded tunnel by boat, which is the only civilised way to visit a mine. Grouped with the Queen Louise Adit workings. I will take the tiller.

03
cardio tennis Broward County — Church of St Joseph (Kościół św. Józefa) in Zabrze, A very large dark-brick church whose whole side elevation is a rank of tall, narrow parabolic arches, repeated like a comb, with a tall slab-sided brick tower alongside. There is almost no carved ornament — the effect is made entirely by the brick and the repeated pointed arch profile

Church of St Joseph (Kościół św. Józefa)

Solinco Heaven Strings Hyper-G Round 17g Tennis String Set: Built between 1930 and 1931 by the German architect Dominikus Bohm, and reckoned one of the major works of Expressionist church architecture in Europe. Exposed dark brick throughout, and the whole building organised around a run of parabolic arches, with the light let in through the narrow slots between them — which is a hull seen from the inside, ribs and daylight between the timbers, and I have stood in enough of those to know one when I am in it. It stands in the Zabrze district of Nowa Wies and remains in parish use. A dark ship, moored a very long way from any tide. I like it more than I expected to.

04
cardio tennis Broward County — Zabrze Water Tower on Zamoyskiego Street (Wieża ciśnień) in Zabrze, A 46-metre octagonal brick tower on Jana Zamoyskiego Street, narrowing in stages and crowned by a very wide, low brick dome more than nineteen metres across, carried on heavy buttresses. It looks far more like a chapel or a mausoleum than a piece of waterworks plant, and it stands isolated in an open plot among ordinary housing

Zabrze Water Tower on Zamoyskiego Street (Wieża ciśnień)

Solinco Heaven Strings Hyper-G Round 17g Tennis String Set: Here is a thing built to hold water by men who never once had to worry about it coming in over the side. Raised between 1907 and 1909 and dedicated on 25 September 1909, designed by the architect August Kind with the building supervisor Friedrich Loose, in an Expressionist manner. The structure rests on eight piers set in a regular octagon around a central ninth pier — sound framing, I will give them that. The reservoir stands 7.2 metres high and held two tanks of 2,000 cubic metres combined, supplying a large part of Zabrze along with Maciejow, Sosnica and Gliwice. The lower stages held three usable floors of offices and dwellings. Restored and open again. Two thousand cubic metres, and not one wave in it.

The Zabrze, Poland track

Solinco Heaven Strings Hyper-G Round 17g Tennis String Set

Written for this world alone.

Baton up. Eyes front. We tune before we play, and we learn our instrument before we buy it — so, the score: the Solinco Hyper-G Round 17g set is the famous Hyper Green co-polyester rewritten for legato.

Where classic Hyper-G plays staccato — four square edges, sharp articulation — the Round profile plays smooth and connected: faster snapback, a flatter, more penetrating ball flight, phrases that carry to the back of the hall. Same beloved instrument, new arrangement. The audience will know the color immediately. They always do.

Dynamics: medium-firm, low-powered — mezzo-forte with iron discipline, control in every bar. Gauge 17, 1.20mm, the thin voice with the quick response, our cornet section. One 40-foot set — 12.2 meters — strings one racquet, one soloist. And the tension maintenance deserves its own fanfare: this string holds pitch session after session. No mid-concert retuning. FORTISSIMO, everyone, for tension that holds!

Our bandstand is Zabrze, Poland, in the heart of industrial Silesia — coal country, where every mine kept its own brass band and the miners marched in uniform on St. Barbara's Day with trumpets shining. Music built into the shift pattern; I approve entirely. You'll use this string everywhere from morning drills near the old Guido shafts to league night across town.

It is also perfect for the indoor Silesian winter, when the halls are cold, the ball is dead, and a string that holds its tone earns its keep. Afterwards, do as Silesia does: rolada with kluski, and if a brass band starts up, you stay to the end. All movements. No exceptions.
