A skirt with shorts sewn in, so: skort. Silky woven outside, ultra high at the waist, a gusset, one pocket that takes a phone. Then Stamford, and a Presbyterian church that is a fish in plan with twenty thousand chips of faceted glass. Whatever. Kinda incredible.
Nike One Dri-FIT Women's Tennis Skort: So, yeah, it is just posing by the Palace Theatre, fine, I guess. It opened in 1927 as a vaudeville house and was brought back to life in 1983, which I only know because apparently my brain stores theater restoration trivia now, whatever.

Its plan is literally fish-shaped and the sanctuary has twenty thousand pieces of faceted glass, which I said way too confidently, so moving on.
Nike One Dri-FIT Women's Tennis Skort: It is at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, a working farm, because apparently even outfits need a field trip, fine, I guess. There is also an observatory with a 22-inch telescope, which is objectively cool, but do not make it weird.
Fine. It's a skort. I mean it's a skirt with shorts sewn into it so it's a skort, that's literally what the word is, I don't know why everyone acts like it's a whole thing.
Anyway. The outer part is a woven polyester, and it's the silky-smooth kind rather than the crunchy kind, which — okay, that actually matters, because the crunchy ones make a noise when you walk and everyone can hear you. The shorts underneath are a polyester-spandex lining so they stretch, plus there's a gusset lining, which is the panel that stops the seam doing the thing.
It's ultra high-waisted. Not high-waisted. Ultra. It sits up properly so it doesn't slide down when you're moving, which is the entire reason anyone buys anything, they just don't say it out loud. Dri-FIT moves the sweat off you so the fabric doesn't stick. There's one drop-in pocket and it fits most phones. It's machine washable.
There's reflective graphics on it.
Whatever, it's a good skort, I don't know what else you want from me.
Stamford. Okay so this is going to sound like I care but the First Presbyterian Church on Bedford Street is shaped like a fish. In plan. Also the Palace Theatre on Atlantic Street was a 1927 vaudeville house that basically died and then got brought back in 1983, which is — fine, that's a good story, I'm not going to pretend it isn't.
You'll wear this everywhere from a hot court to just walking around, and while you're here — Mill River Park is twenty-three acres and the cherry trees there are descended from a hundred and twenty that got given to the city in 1957, so those are grandchildren trees basically, which I'm not going to make a thing about.
And the Stamford Museum and Nature Center is a working farm that also has a twenty-two-inch telescope in an observatory. A farm. With a telescope. I mean. Sure. That's cool, I guess. It's cool.
