Sorry — before you spend anything, may I just be honest about what this is? It is a 23-inch junior racquet with an aluminium o-beam frame. Aluminium. Not graphite.
I say that first because I would hate for anyone to feel misled later, and because for this size of child it is genuinely the right answer: aluminium survives being dropped, dragged along a fence and left in the back of a car, which is what actually happens to a first racquet.
It is for children around six and older, roughly 45 to 49 inches tall — Head makes the same racquet in 21, 23 and 25 inch lengths, so the 23 is the middle rung of a small ladder, and a child grows out of it, which is the point rather than a flaw.
The balance is head-light, and that matters more than anything else in the specification: it takes weight out of the tip so the child can actually get the frame round in time, and it reduces the vibration coming back through a very small arm. It arrives strung, so there is nothing to arrange, nothing to wait for, and nothing else for me to explain. That really is all of it.
I am sorry it is such a short list — I did check.
Above the city are the white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, with the theatre of Hierapolis on the rim looking down over them, and I am told people walk up barefoot through the warm water. I have never been brave enough to suggest an itinerary before, so please ignore me if you would rather not.
Denizli, if you have a moment.
