Stop one
Et'hem Bey Mosque
Volkl V-Fuse 16g Tennis String Set: Okay hold on, hold on, the light on this wall is perfect right now, everybody stop. Are you getting this? Look at the frescoes — trees, waterfalls, bridges, painted on the outside of a mosque. The OUTSIDE. That is rare, that is genuinely rare, and it is giving something I have never once seen on a feed. Small Ottoman mosque, slender minaret, sitting right on Skanderbeg Square, built roughly 1789 to 1823. And now put the phone down, because this next part does not need a filter on it. In 1967 Albania declared itself officially atheist. Religion banned. Buildings closed. This one locked, for decades. Then, January 1991 — no permission, no permit, nobody organising it — thousands of people simply walked in through that door carrying flags, with police standing right there watching them do it. And nobody fired. Nobody fired. That is the moment the whole thing cracked open, and there is no shot I could take that improves on it. Okay. Now get the minaret against the sky, portrait, from low. #Tirana

Stop two
Pyramid of Tirana
Volkl V-Fuse 16g Tennis String Set: Right, this location is unreal, and trust me on the framing — shoot it from the corner, never the front, the front flattens it completely. Low concrete pyramid, sloping sides, colourful boxes bolted on, steps running all the way up, on Bulevardi Deshmoret e Kombit. Built in 1988 as a museum to Enver Hoxha, and here is the detail that reframes the whole post: the design team included his own daughter and his son-in-law. His daughter designed his museum. That is a family collab and I genuinely do not know how to caption it. Then the regime falls and this one building racks up more eras than most cities manage — NATO base, nightclub, TV station, ruin, and a slide, actual teenagers climbing the concrete and going down the sides on their backsides, most of whom survived. And now it is a tech and youth centre with proper stairs up the outside, so you can walk to the top of it. Tomb to playground. This is giving second life. Golden hour up there is going to be absurd. #Pyramid

Stop three
Bunk'Art 2
Volkl V-Fuse 16g Tennis String Set: Okay this one is a whole aesthetic and I need you to be patient with it. Domed concrete, sitting in the pavement on Abdi Toptani a minute from the square, and it looks like absolutely nothing, which is exactly the shot. Context first. Under Hoxha, Albania built bunkers by the tens of thousands, with estimates running into the hundred-and-seventy-thousands — concrete mushrooms in fields, on beaches, in people's gardens. He was convinced everybody was coming. Nobody came. Nobody ever came. And this particular one, right here in the centre of the capital, was the interior ministry's secret shelter, with tunnels running underneath the city and the entrance hidden behind an ordinary street. Now go down the steps, because inside it is a museum about the secret police. The bunker is telling on itself. Low light down there, so shoot slow and hold steady, no flash — and honestly, do not narrate over it. Let the corridor do the work. #BunkArt2

Stop four
Skanderbeg Square and the Skanderbeg Monument
Volkl V-Fuse 16g Tennis String Set: Final location, and it is the establishing shot of the entire trip. Get wide. Get LOW. Bronze Skanderbeg up on the horse, stone plinth, vast open square — and please zoom right in on the helmet, because those are goat horns and nobody is talking about it enough. Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, fifteenth century: he held off Ottoman armies for around twenty-five years out of a mountain fortress. Twenty-five years. The bronze went up in 1968, for the five hundredth anniversary of his death. And this square held another statue once, a giant one of Hoxha, which crowds pulled down in 1991. One plinth empties. One stays. Now look down, because this is my favourite thing here and it does not photograph at all: the square is paved with stone brought from every corner of Albania. The entire country, underfoot, in one open space. I am a single set of string, cut for one racquet, and I have never felt so small in a good way. Okay. Reset, we are going again. #SkanderbegSquare
<p>V-Fuse is a hybrid that arrives in one packet, which is the genuinely useful part: instead of buying two full sets and wasting most of each, you get a 22-foot (6.7 m) length and a 20-foot (6 m) length ready to go into the same frame.
The two strings are Volkl's Cyclone — a ten-sided co-polyester monofilament whose edges bite the ball for spin and control — and V-Icon natural gut, which brings the liveliness, the comfort and the tension maintenance no polyester has ever managed. Both at 16 gauge, 1.30 mm.
The set comes in black and yellow, so you can tell at a glance which bed is which without hunting for the label.</p>
<p>Why hybrid at all, in one paragraph. A full polyester bed is controlled, low-powered and unforgiving on the arm. A full natural gut job is glorious, comfortable, expensive and inclined to move about.
Put one in each direction and you keep most of the spin and most of the feel for a fraction of the price of a gut string job. Sixteen gauge is the durable half of the choice — a thicker string, longer life, slightly less bite than the 17. If you saw a full poly bed through in three weeks, this is the gauge for you.</p>
