Sit down. You are going to want to hear this, because they do not advertise it and I cannot think why. HEAT.RDY. Look at the name — they are telling you outright and nobody reads it. This is not a fabric that dries you off after the fact. Allegedly. This is a garment engineered from the start for conditions where the air itself has stopped cooperating, and once you know that, you cannot unknow it.
Right. The dress and the built-in bra run 79% recycled polyester to 21% elastane in an interlock knit.
The build, and I have checked every number twice because I do not take a label at its word.
The separate inner tights are 81% recycled polyester to 19% elastane, also interlock — different ratio, and there is a reason for that, and the reason is that the tights need more recovery than the dress does. Slim fit, round neck, elastic Y-strap across the back positioned so the shoulder can rotate freely.
At least seventy per cent recycled content overall.
Mesh front lining in the bra, removable padding. Tights come separate, not stitched in. Now ask yourself why a dress needs a detachable second garment. I will tell you: because somebody at adidas actually plays.
Toronto, and keep up. The CN Tower glass floor first, standing on nothing with the street grid directly under your shoes — and I would like it noted that people queue for the sensation of a floor that might not be there.
St Lawrence Market's south hall next, cheese counters and peameal bacon, a building that has been a market, a jail and a city hall, which is a lot of jobs for one address. Then the Distillery District, cobbled Victorian brick from the Gooderham and Worts works, once the largest distillery on the planet, now selling candles. Think about that.
And the Royal Ontario Museum's Crystal, aluminium prisms driven straight into the old stone wing, which everybody calls an accident and which was, in fact, entirely on purpose.
“They put a glass floor in a tower and people pay to stand on it. Nobody asks who is looking up.”
Wear the dress. Trust the ratio. Question the tower.
